Sno - thanks for the info about pixels being out. That goes along with what I was told by my local reputable source - that many manufacturers factory warranty will not cover lost pixels til they reach a certain (larger) number.

tb116 - you asked about Eclipse. Very nice unit. Check out the AV8022, with 8volt pre-outs, at www.eclipse-web.com. I was told that they have no-hassle customer service and warranty. My source is an Eclipse Dealer but that is incidental. I went with the Sony AV7XW which is a control center only, so Im not necessarily pushing Eclipse, its just a good product. Price is comparable to some of the models listed above.

I also checked out the very good Pioneer stuff, but is pricey and didnt fit my plans.

Yes, The In-Dash Multimedia is a double DIN unit. Perfect for FORD, GM, Toyota and Honda. We are OEM for FORD China and GM China.

a chevy opening is 1-1/2 din sorry if i don't understand but it wouldn't drop right in would it?

chevy is a also wider than DIN.. the newer chevy it would probable work in... would have to make something however.. the cars that use the metra 99-2001 kit could probably take it..
