i have a 97 silverado with the prestiege remote start/alarm system. after a weekend of work under the hood and having to disconnect the battery, the remote start does not work. I've been told that this could be due to a broken fuse to the main power harness in the remote start. where should I look for this?

thanks

If I remember correctly, the prestige systems wont even try to turn over until the tach rate is learned. If it worked fine and all you did was unhook the battery and didnt mess around under the dash, you may need to reprogram the tach rate. Also, did you remove any wires from under the hood that may have been connected to the tach wire?? maybe a wire connected somewhere to the ignition coil??  (refer to the installation manuel for programming the tach rate)

I believe the Avox would at least give a 5 chirp to let you know the tach wasn't programmed. Is it doing anything at all when you try to remote start? How about a hood pin? That would make it do nothing, as would the flip switch under the dash being turned off...
