I am experiencing some pretty bad cell phone interference, mostly coming out of my sub (Solobaric 12). I have somewhat inexpensive 4-channel RCA's from Lightning Audio running from a new Kenwood Excelon deck to a Hifonics Zeus ZX6400. My service is with Cingular, and my wife's is Nextel. Her phone is even louder than mine, almost to the point of having to turn the whole system off.

My specific question is, would upgrading the RCA's to a Monster 304 XLN reduce or eliminate the problem? I don't want to drop $70-80  bucks on new cables if it won't address the problem.

i had that prob. once too when a trucker would drive next to me. i would pick up cb transmissions. and come to find out it was my hu was picking it up.   some shop will let you try rca's before you buy them. the shop i used to go to would let me try subs before i bought them. does not hurt to ask.

My cell phone causes interference (if it is close enough) with not only my car stereo, but also my stereo at home, the speakers running off both computers, and tv's. I think it is just something you have to live with.

Nextel is the worst offender. I have the same interference with professional wireless mic's. Actually I broadcasted the Nextel Click to 8 TV stations in Boston during a PGA event. The Client had his phone in his jacket packet and was standing next to my wireless reciever rack.
I have found a few different places in my car where i can set my phone and it wont interfere.

man, that is annoying to try out stuff before you buy it.  anyway, if you have the gain on your amp turned all the way up so you don't have to turn the volume on your kenwood up to "hear the bump" then small interferences like that will be accordingly amplified.  its a long shot but try to turn the gain down.

yup nextel is horrible for that i also get it in ever sound amplifier or reciever i have it is something we sometimes have to live with but my noise is ery slight and faint. if yours is really bad i would start at the hu and try another one. also a very crulshel thing you have to do is check all connections and ground points for the entire system. lol
JUST ONE MORE AMP!!!
