This my first post here. I hope I am following guidelines.
In process of installing Prostart CT5000 on my 2005 Toyota Matrix automatic. Any help with following would be greatly appreciated.
A/ Do I diode protect imobilizer unit?
B/ Should I use a diode in line with a starter relay between 85 or 86
and black yellow from ign switch or quench relay with diode     before going onto white\orange of 12 wire harness?
NOTE:We have carried out more than 3 flashes, probably out of sequence, so can I "Reset"?
1/ RESET---Flash, (hold pin in for 4 secs, release, press moment only. Lights (should stay on) Press and release brake pedal 6 times, lights should flash 8 times to confirm reset.
1a/ Can I carry out next step after "Reset 'flash or do another flash?
2/ Program clickers--- (First)    Flash, turn ign on then off, press and hold lock button till lights flash 5 times and release. CHECK (Second) turn ign on then off, press and hold lock button till lights flash 5 times and release. CHECK
3/ Tach programming--- Hood up, start engine, let stabilize, lights should be on, step on brake pedal, lights should flash 5 times. Turn key off and release     brake.
3a/ On page 13 the words "Auto Tach are mentioned, Should I, Do I perform 2 "Auto Tach" procedures?
4/ Try to start--- Test light on starter to confirm disconnect after remote start.
5/ Trunk--- May not lock because wrong connection at trunk release button.(or relay req, to reverse polarity?, and diode protect or quench??)
6/ All doors on second unlock--   Do not work??
thks in advance

well..that reset your talking about resets the whole unit, so anything you programed into it will be gone after that.  after it's fully wired and your 100% sure you have everything right on your vehicle then you can program the remotes (or clickers as you called them)

and for the tach, yes, leave the hood up , start the vehicle and let it come to an idle, then push the brake pedle and the lights should flash . after that, the tach is programed...don't worry about your auto tach

another thing, don't use a test light, use a digital multi-meter. alot safer, especially for someone that's new to remote starters.

that's all i'm able to help you with, i havn't done a new matrix yet but those prostarts are close to the autostarts i've installed.

Blue with yellow for unlock is first pulse drivers, second pulse all, but you must use blue/white for lock. Trunk release doesn't nned arelay if you go to the switch, just negative pulse and shouldn't affect locking. It only pops the glass not the whole trunk. Not familiar with the product so no help there...

ty stang351w and Mike M2 for your replys. I went with out relay used logic to install finer points and only used test light for starter disconnect test. Mounted ct5000 antennae low right hand corner windshield for looks and unit works well except for re-entry with toyoya remote doesnt work unless i approach centre rear antennae of matrix and pulse it there. am going to remount antennae at a different temporary point on windshield to test functions, will inform forum.
