While programming a pku-ch bypass for a 2004 Chrysler 300 I noticed that the check engine light is now on.I only powered up ign 1 while programming.I have all wires powered when they are supposed to(including ign 2).Is there an easy way to clear it or do I need a scan tool?Thanks Russ.

Take off both Battery terminals, and make sure the whole system is drained of power. Let it sit for approx 10-15 mins, and this "might" clear it. Some vehicles you can just drive and it will also turn off.

If that doesn't work, then you will probably have to go get it cleared.

A tech at Carmax told me the other day that a Chrysler will clear itself after it sees 20 starts if it won't clear with the battery cables. Taking his word for it, but worth a try.

Here is an easy way to clear check engine lights on a new chrysler. Disconnect the negative battery terminal with the ignition on. With the terminal disconnected, turn the key to the crank position for 30 seconds. turn the ignition off and reconnect the battery. The light should be gone the next time you start it.

Thanks guys.I got a call from the customer this morning,stating that the front turn signals don't work and the left headlight won't work on low beam.I found that I didn't fully seat a plug in the relay/fuse pack next to the emergency brake.Reseated connector and all is well,Thanks again and I'll remember the tips,Russ
