Hey guys,
I'm having a problem and hopefully one of you has an answer. I'm working on a 2001 VW Jetta GLS, the customer asked me while I was working on it if I could take a look at her passenger side door lock and window switches. The entire module isn't getting any power I assume because the lights are not illuminated any more as they should be. Of course the lock/unlock and window switches aren't doing anything; no noise, nothing at all. I checked all the fuses, no avail on that matter. I'm not sure what else could be causing the problem. Any help would be great, thanks.

Check the grounds for the door. There will be a factory grounding point located behind the kickpanel on the passenger's side. Check it for corrosion/tightness. Next thing is to check continuity from this point to the door module (on window motor) grounds, the switch grounds, etc.. you may have a broken wire in the boot.
Does anything work from the driver's side switches?

If it get into taking the car apart, try unplugging the main harness in the drivers door.I have done this on a few vw's and once you reconnect it everything works again.
