Is venting a partition ok in a sealed box

I am building a sealed box for 2 Audio Pipe 15", 1000rms/2000max, 2 ohm dvc, qts .42, fs 25hz, vas 3.57. It is about 3.3 cubic feet per chamber and I was thinking about venting the partition, or maybe putting a long port between them. Is this ok to do?   If not for this aplication, how do I detemine whether a driver is suitable for this? Is it any different from them sharing the airspace completely? Thanks!!!

the only thing it will do is affect air space. it will do nothing for sound unless one sub goes out. just seperate the chambers and be done.

Uhh.. do NOT use a long tube. That is going to introduce some really unpredictable tuning. However, putting a big hole in the space is actually a good idea... this will serve to sum the airspace of the chambers and then divide it by 2... effectively giving both woofers the exactly the same amount of airspace and hence, the exact same tuning."I'm finished!" - Daniel Plainview

Infact don't chamber it. Instead where the divider would be you should brace the enclosure.Certified Security Specialist
