Hello, well I was just wondering if I'll hear any major difference in MbQuart component speakers that I'll prolly power by JBL amp that will be making 60WattRMS per channel. I wont be running crossovers and I will use just one amp to power the 1 set of MBQuarts (so tweet will get its own channel from the amp). Ok so here is the main question will I hear any major sound difference between Discus/Reference/Premium speakers? I mean the price goes up from lower to higher class but is it really worth the $$$?
Thank you

As far as I know, the upper two use the same tweeter for sure.  The lower end one might also.  I know the crossovers with each one are manufactured with different quality parts and I am sure there are some design differences because the midbass speakers are all slightly different so they can handle different freq. ranges.  I know the reference and the premium ones are very popular.  I would avoid the discus ones and just sring the money for the reference ones.  That way you won't be kickig yourself later.

Good Luck!

Alright I'll do that, cuz I have MbQuart Discus in my car right now, they are not component and sound ok. So I guess I'll go a lil higher.
Oh by the way, did any one here did or know if its possible to take off the tweeter off of MbQuart Discus (non component speaker) without damaging it.
Thank you
