Anti-Grind feature

I think if I am reading this manual correctly, it says I have a built in remote and with my limited knowledge, from the wording it appears all I need is a relay and I can hook it up.

Here is what the manual says: 

The unit is equipped with a selectable passive- or active-arming Starter Kill circuit that will immobilize the vehicle when the system is armed. This wire will provide a constant 500-mA negative output when the system is armed (locked by remote) or if remote started. This wire should be connected to a Single Pole Double-Throw Relay (This wire will connect to Pin 85, on the Relay, and Pin 86 will be connected to the Ignition wire).

A second benefit of the Starter Kill is the Anti-Grind feature. When the vehicle has been remote started the Anti-Grind prevents the starter motor from re-engaging when the ignition key is inserted in the Ignition switch and accidentally turned to the CRANK position (The Starter Kill output becomes active during remote starts).

Can someone tell me, in order to have anti-grind cheaply, i just need this relay?

Yes, just wire up the starter kill relay and then the anti grind will be active.

So, I just hook up those two wires to the SPDT relay and thats it, no other wires?   Do i just tap into the ignition switch wire, that is also used for the RS too? Do i have to worry about diodes or anything like that.

OH, 85 ignition, 86 kill/anti grind output from alarm, 30 key side of starter wire, 87A motor side of starter wire. Make sure that you also wire the alarm's remote start output to the motor side of the relay.

Hi auex, thanks again for responding.

This unit is just a RS remote start, no alarm. I am definately not disputing what you are saying , as  i am not knowledgeable with this stuff at all but what I was reading about this stuff above,, it just says to hook those two wires up to a SPDT relay.

Let me try to repeat what auex said, this is really simple but has to be done this way.  Trust me, your instructions left out the part about your starter wire- they were not very detailed!

1.You have to cut your vehicles starter wire in two. 

2.Then the side of the wire that goes to the key side gets connected to pin 30 of the relay.

3.the other half of cut starter wire goes to pin 87a (The moter side)  Also on this side of the wire you need to connect the remote starter's "start" wire

4.Pin 85 to Ignition wire,

5.Pin 86 to ground output of system.

In case you ask, this has to be done this way so that when the vehicle has been remote started the relay is preventing you from cranking the starter with your key "Anti-Grind" When the vehicle is not running the relay will alow your starter wire to be powered with your key as normal.
