I am going to istall a remote start and a bypass module in my truck. Have the bypass module but the instructions are terrible. It is an Autostart Data Interface Module CH-DT1000.
There are inputs for:
Lock
Unlock all doors
Data input/output
Starter input
Dome light input
panic input
ground out when running input
The only real output I see is dome light output. The module is supposed to look after locks, security, ect. Does this all just happen through the data in/out? Do all the inputs just come from the outputs on the remote starter? CH-DT1000

I don't know about the bypass your using, but on the ones I use the work comes from the data out.Go ahead and put er in and you'll be ok.

So I just use the arm and disarm outputs on the remote starter and hook them to the proper inputs on the bypass module, from there the bypass module should both arm the security and lock the doors via the data in/out? No other connections required to my locks or security? This sounds alot easier if that is the way it works. Please advise.

You are correct. If there were more connections, you wouldn't need it would you?2004 Dodge Ram remote start -- posted image. The mod sends data to the BCM, controlling all that for you....

What does everyone prefer as a location for mounting the brain, bypass mod and relays so that it looks good and is all as close together and close to all connections as possible? It is for a 2004 Dodge Ram.

for that car if you look up to the top of the dash you will see the black like liner.. there is enough room to tuck the unit up under that and snake all ur wires down..

Put it behind your radio. There is an @$$ load of room back there.

I was wondering what is the importance of the key sense wire and when is it important to use it? Is it strictly for alarm purposes or fer remote start also?

It depends on who makes the car. On Toyota and Lexus, hooking it up will disarm the factory alarm before remote starting. It may also be needed to turn off the immobilizer bypass when needed so the car doesn't see two keys at once, like the Escape.
