Prostart, 98 GMC Sierra

I have a 98 GMC Sierra with power door locks.  I have successfully installed the Prostart 3400TW auto-start but I am confused about the door locks.  I have located the L/blue and white wires for the door lock but before I start cutting could someone tell me if I need relays and all that other crap.  My truck does not have OEM keyless entry.  With all the post I have read I think all the relay stuff might be over my head.  Or is it as simple as I hope and just a direct splice from my starter harness to the wires?

I did not have any luck with the locks and managed to fry a 30 A fuse and my remote would no longer start until I unplugged the prostart 12-pin connector.

Here is my connections:

6-pin harness

• Both reds from Prostart 6-pin to red on main ignition harness
• yellow from Prostart 6-pin to pink on main ignition harness
• orange '' ''                              to orange  ''  ''
• purple  "  "                             to yellow  "  "
• green  "  "                              to white  "  " 

5-pin harness

• black from Prostart 5-pin to bare metal bolted ground
• purple  "  "                            to white tach wire
• grey   "  "                               to the hood switch
• orange  "  "                           to the white brake switch
• yellow  "  "                             to the brown park lights

Also have a PATSK-600 bypass module, valet button and LED hooked up to thier ports.

As far as the locks are concerned I hooked the (-)unlock green wire from the 12-pin  Prostart harness to the "85" terminal of the relay.  The "87" 12V+ wire to the white wire at the switch.  The other relay had the brown (-) lock wire to the "85" terminal and the "87" 12V+ to the Lt blue wire at the switch.  I then connected the "86" and "30" together of both relays and then tied those together which I hooked to the 12 V+ red wire of the 6-pin harness between the fuse and the module.  Let me no if this is right, maybe I'm missing wires from the 12-pin or could it be that I should be using the diagram for 5 Wire Alternating 12 Volts Positive Door Locks.  Thanks for all the help.

I undid all of the hookups with the relays and tried to hook up the "5 wire alternating system" just like what the drawing showed.  I can find the white wire and lt blue wire at the switvh but I cannot find the tan or grey wire that is supposed to be "motor lock and unlock wires" can they be found up by the door lock switches or somewhere else?  When I hold my meter on either lock/unlock wire I get 11-12 V when I hold the switch down.  What kind of reading should I be getting on the motor lock/unlock switches?

I have successfully installed a Prostart 3400 remoted start and now I want to hook up the locks.  I need to use the "5 wire alternating 12V" circuit to make things work.  All the info that I have found states that the Lt. blue and white lock wires can be found at the door lock switch which I have found.  The tan and grey wires to control the "lock motors" are said to be found behind the drivers side kick panel.  I have pulled the panel and stuck my hand up the hole and followed on bundle of wires that run back along the sill plate but all it has is a bunch of white wires.  Are the tan and grey up higher behind the kick plate and what is the easiest way to get at them to make the connections?
