matrix rs III remote problem

I have a 2001 Excursion with a matrix III installed.....battery died.....now the remote does not function correctly....it will start the car, arm/disarm normally but the remote does not indicate that the command was completed....ie it does not beep it gives the notice as if the vehicle was to far away...if i arm or lock the doors the arm/lock icon does not come on.....is there a problem with the remote or is the system not sending any response....it is like the transmitter sends but receives nothing.....thanks

Unplug the antenna cable from the antenna for a few minutes. Might fix it. I've seen it many times.

I unplugged the ant.   and let it sit for about 5 mins.......and presto it worked!!!  Thanks for the help!!!
