dome light problem 98 cavalier

hey guys, hopefully someone can help and SOON lol... im installing an alarm (crimestopper in my 98 cavalier and i ran into some problems... 1. the dome light stays on permanently.  its not controlled by the doors or the ignition.  i have no idea where to hook the wire up to.  i tried a relay attaching the dome light control wire, power, ground, and the door pin trigger, i tried all the wires in the dimmer switch, i even tried directly to the dome light, and i got nothing.  any help with that would be great.  2. the parking lights don't flash. im pretty sure i got the right wire as per the diagram i had of my car.  right switch, right plug, no lights tho?? the alarm also won't let me program it.  i have no idea whats going on with this tihng.  the only thing i got working was the siren and the doors to unlock and lock with the remote.  other than that, things seem to be messed up somewhere.  any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!!
