Is necesarily to buy a trunk module to open my trunk? or can I make it with a simple relay and my output of my alarm?

If your car already has power trunk release ( electric motor ) then all you will need is a relay, but if you do not have factory power trunk you will have to use a trunk release solenoid to pull the cable that releases the trunk latch.

What kind of vehicle do you have. I can tell you how to wire up the relay in the next post.

The target wire is a BLACK/ WHITE at the trunk release switch. You will need to give this wire a momentary ( + ) signal. If your alarm / remote starter does not have a ( + ) output trunk release wire, you will need to install a relay that chages polarity. Wire up a relay like this:

  • 86 + 87 - 12 Volts Constant
  • 85 - trunk release wire form alarm or remote starter
  • 30 - BLACK/ WHITE trunk release wire of Grand Prix

Hey, I have a question.  If you need to get a solenoid, do you still need to get a relay?

Also...

My alarm has a ( - ) accessory output.  Can I just hook that output wire to the positive wire on the trunk release solenoid?

thanks,

Hi AcuraRacing, yes, you still need a relay. Connect the (-) accessory output to #85, connect 12V+ to #86 and #87, and connect #30 to the positive lead of the solenoid.
