Hello all,
Installed a ProStart 5060 in the ranger. Programmed the remotes and the tach, no problem. Got it to remote start 3 times, now I go to set up into ready mode, engine running, press the parking brake, push the lock button and get the 3 flashes to confirm the command. Turn the key back and the engine shuts down. I checked the wiring and everything seems to check out. I have it wired as follows.
Harness/Ignition
Red (12v) - Yellow
Red (12v) - Yellow
Purple (starter) - RED / lightblue
Orange (accessory) - Grey / YELLOW
Yellow (Ignition 1) - light GREEN/ purple
Green (Ignition 2) - BLACK/ light green
Any ideas? Module problem?

I am assuming that this is a manuel transmission. If this is what your asking and everything is hooked up right, you need to

-get in , shut the door, start truck with the key, apply parking brake, press start button on remote, remove keys from ignition, get out of truck and shut door. Now shut the truck off with the start button on remote. The unit is now in ready mode.

Make sure your foot is not on the brake pedal while trying to activate ready mode.  I think three flashes on a prostart indicates exiting ready mode.  If the door is not open and the e-brake is on, this may be it.

Definately made sure my foot is not on the brake. Got in, closed the door, started the engine, put the PB on, pressed the start button, 3 flashes and the lights stayed on (should get 3 flashes confirming command), turned the key back and the engine shuts down when it should stay running.

You gave a wiring description in your first post, you didn't mention the wiring of the PB switch or the dome light. Are these working properly and sending signal to the RS unit???

Alright, well it turns out I have a faulty door switch, weither that was the whole problem or not, it seems to be working. I'll try it a few times and post again.

Truck remote started maybe twice sucessfully. So back to the drawing board I went. After an afternoon of troubleshooting we found that the PB sw was loosely mounted and the ground signal it was giving was not always a true ground, any little vibration would compromise the signal. Then ofcourse when you turned the key back to set into ready mode the truck would shut down. We're waiting for parts from Ford, until then we installed a toggle sw and it works everytime. Wiggly amps and boomatrons drive me crazy sometimes. Thanks all for your input.
