I have an Automate AM7 remote starter/secuity system installed in a 2003 Toyota Sequois.

When I remote start the car and let it run until it automatically turns off, the car will have a dead battery and not start.

The lights will be real dim and starter siolonoid not even click.

Has anyone encountered such an issue?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I can take the easy way out and program it to run for 60 minutes.

I don't know if that would harm the battery any more. I still doesn't fix the problem though.

Your problem is not common. I haven't came across this problem, but if I were to guess I would think that there's a ignition wire or a accessory wire that is not powered up and is not allowing the alternator to do its job and charge the battery. Check all wires coming from the ignition switch with the car running, and then under remote start, see if you need to power another accessory or ignition wire.

The two ignitions must be powering up to have the alternator charge, BLACK / YELLOW and BLACK/ red. If both of these power up chances are the problem isn't the remote start but a problem with the truck not charging at idle. In either case, even a non charging car shouldn't kill the battery in a 15 minute run time, so i'd have the battery checked....
