I am having problems remote starting on cold mornings and I think the key is getting too cold (I read this somewhere that this would affect it).

What i want to do is reprogram the key when it is cold. How would i do that?  And could I throw it in the freezer for a few minutes before i program it?

BTW, I am using a DEI 556U.

Thanks

The problem is not with the key. Temperature has no effect on the key whatsoever. The problem may be due to a bad solder joint in a module or more likely a poor connection or low battery. Make sure that the battery and ground connections for both the battery and the remote starter are good. Reprogram the remote starter's tach setting on a cold day. It also helps to post more info on exactly what your car does when it won't start to aid members in diagnosing problems.

You can freeze the key thats used in the bypass module then reprogram that key while its frozen. It depends on what year the car is as to how you program the key. If you have an owners manual to the car it will usaully tell you how to.
