I HAD a Chrysler 300M 99 coupe with leather interior.  I wrapped it around a pole, and now I got my wifes Grand Prix GT.  I took my system out of the 300 and had it put in the Prix.  It is probably the different cars alternators, battery and age, but my subs are twice as loud as they were.  I had a Cap in the 300, so power isn't the isssue.  I do think that Leather interior has something to do with it.  The fabric interior of the Prix works like a soundproof room.  The acoustics are tight, and the bass crisp. The bass probably travels through the fabric much better than leather, which I think distorts it a little. Looks like wifey doesn't get the car back.  I got her a 03 Stratus SXT, so she can't be too upset.  Any info is appreciated.

It seems like I've read something about the trunks of a 300M's being isolated by a big metal plate from the rest of the interior... I could be wrong.. you might try doing a search.

Yea, I agree.  Interior treatments can have a major effect on sound, but usually on higher frequency reproduction not on subwoofer frequencies.  It's much more likely the difference you're hearing is due to the way the two vehicles are made rather than the interiors.

I am glad I wasn't hearing things.  The trunk of the 300 was pretty large.  It sounded good, but I like they system in the Prix much better.  I used to leave the driver side back seat down to help the bass drive out of the trunk. I was basically a second, very large port.  The Prix has a smaller compartment in the middle of the back seat, which I believe to make the thump ALOT harder than before.  I am liking not having to put in a cap as well.  Thanx all
