Steve brings up a good point about carpeting.  You could get an uneven edge, and the carpet may try to pull away.  In this case you could carpet the face (preferred), or try your hand at making a precise cut at the edge, but use good glue, because that's all that's holding the carpet in place.  The shop I used to work at used red contact glue, and it was even better than the yellow stuff.

yeah,that was the plan, i was probably going to leave overhang until it all dries very good, then run a razon over it tight to the edge. thanks
