Tail &dash lights out after installing st

Second stereo installed in a 1990 Issuzu Trooper . Each time it has caused the tail and dash lights to fail. It also seems to blow the interior light fuse.sunshine

are you hooking up any sort of illumination or dimmer leads? typically orange color wire from the aftermarket harness?

I,m going to go look in a second.  Sorry but could you explain what the harness is.  I think the illumination wires from the car are blue, white. Should I still be looking for orange from the harness?  "pretty clueless"sunshine

There is not an orange wire coming from stereo harness. Other than the spker wires there is only red,yellow,black,blue.  The red and yellow from stereo harness are connected to a white wire from car harness. The wire diagram i looked up for issuzu doesnt show a white wire.any ideas what the white could be? I do believe its the constant 12v& the accessory connected to it. sunshine

It sounds like you did not use a wiring harness that plugs into your factory radio harness.  Bad idea.  You're probably using a wrong wire for either power or ground, and blowing the fuse as soon as the lights are turned on.  The wires test fine with the lights off, but as soon as you turn them on, the fuse blows.  It's a common mistake when people try to hardwire.  See if you can put it back to stock- reconnect the factory stereo harness, and buy an adapter.  Then wire it in and see if the problem goes away.My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
