ok, i give up. search function brought about nothing. hopefully you guys can help.

i have an alpine 310 head unit. just added the myron and davis headrest/tv's tonite and hooked them up to the aux output on my 310 box. two of my friends both have the 901 head unit and headrest tv's and their headrest monitors will display whatever is on the 901 display. for example, if your listening to a cd, and the 901 shows the "cd player" title, and the name of the cd, and all that jazz. also, you can select other sources for the rear monitors, such as a video game console or a dvd.

well, heres my problem. my rear monitors will ONLY show dvd, nav, or whatever is being input into the aux 1 input on the 310 box. it WONT show whats on the main screen. such as the ipod, cd, or radio screen with the cool backgrounds and titles. when i go into setup on the head unit, i can choose what i want to be displayed on the aux video out. only choices are "off, dvd, nav, aux 1" problem, alpine 310 video output -- posted image.

i dont care about the back seat people watching something different than the front. i just want the back monitors to display whatever my front monitor does (like apparently the 901 head unit will). does anybody know if there is a user option that can be changed? if not, does anybody know if it can be hardwired (for example, cut into the "display" wire coming out of the 310 brain and going to the actual head unit in the dash, and tapping into the video wire?). although hard wiring is an extreme last resort, id like to somehow do this. hopefully there is an easy setting i can change that one of you may be able to enlighten me on.

i looked through and read the entire manual for the 310. doesnt seem like it does it though.

Sorry, but that option is only available with the 900 or 901. I also have D-310, but I also have vpe-s431 video swithcher, doesn't help with displaying 'cd/radio info' but gives you a stupid little spectrum analyzer to display on all monitors. Why do you need to see cd/radio info on another screen???

so that the screens arent just blank when not watching  movie. problem, alpine 310 video output -- posted image. "why" isnt as important as "how". haha.

yea, i wish the option was available. i wonder why its not?

so, just cause it cant do it out of the box, does this mean it cant be hardwired some how?
