93 ford explorer, pioneer DEH-59

A friend of mine has a 93 ford explorer and he wants me to install an old pioneer primere DEH-59. Problem is I can't get power to the deck. I found the wiring color code for the truck posted here in the forum, and tested the power wires with a digital multimeter and even that isn't registering any power. Does anyone have any advice? Oh yeah, a proper wiring diagram for the deck would be nice too.

make sure you check all the fuses.

Hmmmm I find that odd check the fuses would be a must it may have been popped when connecting wires. I have a 94 explorer and ive installed about a dozen differnt radios in it. All ranging from kenwoods,Jvc's,Pioneers,Eclipse and Clarion. Never once did i have a problem. What i do is i take the wire on the back of the radio and unplug it. I get an aftermarket harness for the snap-in integration to the stock harness. Its the easiest way to go.Then i take it outside of the turck solder all the connections and use shrink tubing on the wires. NIce clean and simple. I snap it into the stock harness into the radio and hook up the remote wire which i have set to plug in i made a plug to unplug it easily which goes to a relay then to the amps and lights and the other goodies. Then plug in the radio and pop it in and call it a day. I never have a problem. If you tired connecting it in the dash thats more work than its worth to be honest with you. Also you may need a jumper for the stock amp if you arnt puttin an amp on the door speakers. Be sure to connect the remote wire from the radio to the remote wire for the stock amp if your head unit isnt high power and wont over power the stock amp. If not the speakers wont work. If you need to use a jumper on the stock amp its located on the passenger side rear behind the rear seat.  That big panel needs to come off. Its no fun. the amps gonna be right behind the seat youll see it you cant miss it. I took that out and thats where the brain for my radio is.
