Hi Folks,

Can you safely hook up two different brand subs to a single amp?  I want to connect a Rockford Fosgate and a JL Audio subs to my Kenwood amp.  Both subs are 10 inch with 4 ohms impedance.  Also, I think both have 150 watts RMS rating, although I am 100 percent sure on that without checking the subs.  The amp can handle two speakers at 150 watts RMS fine.

Will I hurt either the speakers or the amp?

Happy New Year!

yes and no.. both will put out thier own sound the outcome???  and as long as they each are in their own box!.  and no this will not hurt the amp in any way as long as you do not go under the amp's impedance rating.

Thanks for the replies.  Is it not a good idea because of different sound qualities of the different subs?

Correct, you'll have a different type of sound from each sub.  You're best bet is to stick with the same make/model if you want to run multiple subs.
My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
