Hello all. First timer here. Got a question maybe someone can answer. Heres a little background first.

What I'm running:

KENWOOD KDC-MP5028

A jeep limited cherokee stock infinity amp

4 sony 6.5" door speakers

a JBL GTO600.1

2-diamond audio CM310D4 (10" dual 4 ohm)

1-MTX 15" single 4 ohm

1-1 farad capacitor

Power and Ground are all 4 gauge from battery to cap and cap to ground. From cap I have 2-8 gauge wires to the amp. From the Ground also is 2-8 gauge to the amp. Lightning Audio RCA's. Decent speaker wire. I did the install pretty solid making sure everything was wrapped up.

Problem is this. One of the Diamond Audio 10"s makes a noise like, well, ......... When its not hooked up and you move the cone/whatever thingy up and down, it makes a few wierd clicks, kinda like the end of a wire is hitting it somewhere. The other sub makes a similar click, but only 1. Any idea's what it could be and how I can fix it? I just bought these sub's used and I'm hoping I wasn't burned. Hit me back via e-mail or this forum if you have information. Thanks.

Sounds like you got burned. Subs are the single most abused part of a stereo system. If they are making any type of noise, ie: it clicks when the cone is pushed, they are fooked.
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

why are you running 2 diamond 10's with the mtx 15"
just run the 15 since you already blew (or bought bad subs) the diamond 10's. beter yet, get the diamond subs reconed and then run them instead of the mtx 15s.

When running they make the noise just much faster. It almost sounds as if a wire from the coil is hanging somewhere. The one fifteen isn't quite loud enough for me. I guess I'll get on Ebay and track down another mtx 15" 4500.

Do two 12" MTX 7500's. $235 for a pair is what I struck. Damn, they pound sooo hard. I'm gonna go deaf...

I had this same problem with my diamonds, and it's really not a problem at all.

Take the sub out of the box, there is probably still a sticker over the whole on the sub magnet...this will fix your problem and shouldn't affect the future effectiveness of the speaker. My M6 10's thumped great after I took off the pesky sticker covering the hole in the magnet...

I don't know why diamond does this...buy anyway..
