I am building  a ported sub box for a MTX 5512.44 sub.  My design program says that  a 1.25 cubic ft box, with a 3.5" inside diameter port that is 20.5" long, the box will be tuned at 29.6 hz.  What i need to know is where do i place the port.  The only option is on the top of the box due to the design of the box to fit it in the vehicle.  Does it matter which side of the top I put it in or more towards the front or back?

Ideally the port should be on the same baffle as the driver.
