I have 4 tv monitors in my car that is hook up to a 20 amp relay (recieves power  when the car is on, and no power when the car is off). All four monitors although is pulling 6 amps of current..

When i turn the car on, i get a voltage spike on the monitors, so i gotten 2 3amp rectifer diodes. Will hooking two diodes up in parallel acrosss a relay stop the voltage spike by equaling the additional proerpty of 6 or do i need to do something else.

This is the exact way the relay is set up, where exactly would I place the diode

No security system can beat the tow truck :(

You are not using the Diode as a fuse.

The coil of the Relay is less than 1 amp.

The load of the coil is protected from spiking a voltage to the whole thing.

One diode is all you need for protection.
