I have had my 3.5 installed since Dec. 2004. Now, when I arm my Tahoe,  the alarm starts going off. I push the button and in 15-20 seconds my remote sounds and the alarm triggers for no reason. I discovered that if I manually lock my door and then set the alarm, it doesn't go off.

Any ideas as to the cause of this?

push in the domelight overide and see if you have the same problem.... this will narrow down whether its the door circuit or not.... when you say it triggers for "no reason" what is the LCD screen showing you???

The LCD screen shows the shock sensor ( the hammer in the middle of the car, right?)

Now that I have used the power locks on the door before arming, the alarm only shows a warning and chirps instead of going off. Butt it does this for every little sound. Like the sensitivity was increased. But would that cause the alarm to go off when arming it without locking the doors 1st. (would it be ultra sensitive to anything? even the dome light delayed in going off?) Is that a stupid question?

And how would the sensitivity increase on its own? If that is a possibility.

The sensor could be defective or it may have moved or come loose from its mounting location. This would change its reaction to vibration. Inspect it to see if it held tight or has moved.

as sparkie said, visually check the shock sensor....'i've seen where the wire tie breaks that the shock sensor was mounted with and it's now swinging by it's wires.....
