Still doing some digging on this newly acquired 1996 Suburban.  I'm curious how I can tell if it has Keyless Entry?  We only got a single key when purchased.  I did some searching and found that if the white sticker in the glove box has "AP0" is is installed.  Is this correct or is there another way to tell? I just want to make certain before I go to the trouble in buying remotes.  I also need to find a darn missing door actuator somewhere.

Thanks much,

Robert

The option code is AU0. You may want to buy an aftermarket keyless entry and install it. Factory remotes can be very expensive and the range is usually only 30 feet. The aftermarket offers far more options and features. Consider an alarm or remote starter instead. They also offer keyless features.

The mid 90's GM remotes were terrible for range. I think 30 feet is pushing it....

You can have the Dealer Run the V.I.N. also ( usually the Parts Dept. ) or look:

Or, look uo onto the gas pedal bracket for the door lock relays. They are there for factory keyless, and not there if it didn't have factory keyless.
