Cannot get vehicle to crank with remote--Installing Avital 4001- I have the pink from module hooked to pink ignition-yellow from module hooked to yellow on ignition side and violet from module hooked to same wire yellow on starter side.  Red from module straight to battery.  This is what the book says to do, is it missing something , do I need to hook to another ignition wire.  The remote armed signal output, does this need to be hooked to ground or where it is grey/black.  Need help   Thanks for any info.

Did you hook up the small black and white wire up?  It is for a neutral safety switch and must see a ground for the alarm to even attempt to remote start.  Also you may have an immoblizer that needs to be bypassed and there is more than one ignition wire that needs to be hooked up.  You also might want to recheck you wiring to be sure.

I"ll try it,  it looks like I will be needing a relay for this switch--any suggestions.  How do I know if I have a immobilizer.  I should have had it installed, but now I'm on a mission to get it working.

If the vehicle is an auto you should just ground the neutral safety switch ( you can also put it on a mini toggle switch ).  If the yellow security light comes on for about three seconds when you power the ignition with the key you have passlock.

I have your exact same vehicle and you do not have an immobilizer. You do have 2 ign. wires though that both must be energized for remote start. It should be a pink/white off of the sattelite. Also double check all your connections and make sure all your ribbons are plugged into your brain. Sometimes the simpliest thing is the problem.

Notes:

*1 The ECM is located on the passenger inner fender well. Located the white wire in a black plug labeled 'white'.  *2 Also found at the TRW keyless entry module mounted to the under dash panel on drivers side. With the module unplugged, the drivers door lock will no longer function.  *3 This wire catches all doors, but reads the delay. To keep the alarm from reading the delay, place a diode in-line on the white door trigger wire with the anode towards the keyless module. Attach your door trigger wire to the cathode side of the diode. On non-keyless models there is a module with 5 wires located where the keyless normally resides. The white wire there catches only the front two doors. To catch the rear doors use the white wire at the drivers side rear pin switch.
