My friend just leased a 2006 g6 base model and it didnt came with keyless entry remote. i know that some manufactures dont give the remote on the base models but it is still wired and ready to go for a remote. does anyone know if that is true with this car??? cuz ebay has some remotes for like 40 bucks. if so does anyone have instruction on how to program it??
thanks

You can't install a factory remote on these cars without changing the BCM and adding the factory keyless receiver and remotes. You'll spend 10 times what an aftermarket remote keyless entry costs.

The G6 requires the PLXR or PKG7 bypass module for remote start and the door lock system is a Type F single wire system that requires a pulse to ground through resistors. It's a straight forward vehicle to do for the intermediate/professional installer and I can see this vehicle being a nightmare for hte novice/beginner installer. If it's a lease vehicle, I suggest a professional installation because you are tying into most of the wires at the BCM and this could cost you some $$$ if you damage the BCM.
