I have a 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan and it came with factory keyless entry (but NOT the factory alarm system).  As it comes from the factory, the only visual indicator that the car has been unlocked is that the dome light, when set to the proper position, will come on when the unlock button is pressed and remain on til the car is started or 60 seconds have elapsed.  When it is locked, only a short chirp of the horn occurs (i.e. no visual indicator).

What I want to do is make it so the parking lights flash when the car is locked and/or unlocked.  I know it's possible to do but I've gotten conflicting advice on how to wire it.  One wiring guide I've read says that if the car has "autolamps", then you have to wire it a certain way.  what are autolamps?   I do know if u leave the door open for like 45 minutes the dome light automatically goes off to save the battery.  Also, if u have the headlights turned on and the car running, then turn the car off before turning the lights off, the headlights will stay on for about 30 seconds.  Is that what the autolamps are?

Autolamps mean if your vehicle is equip with it then you will never forget to turn on the headlights.  It will turn on by itself and shut off when the ignition is off (shut off the engine).

Well, I answer this question a couple days ago.  You can hook up a couple relays to do the job.  Your vehicle is kind off tricky to do because the lock & unlock wire is the same.  The door lock system is multiplex wiring system.

use pin 85 to lock wire, pin 86 to 12v fused (3amps), pin 87 to ground, and pin 30 goes to parking light wire, ignore pin 87a......... hook up unlock the same way
