hey,
this is the problem I'm having.
marksman m3 alarm has the indicator led on solid...
the only time it goes off is 5 or so seconds after the ignition is turned on.
when they key is out/doors open closed/buttons pushed on alarm, the led stays on solid.
in the instruction manual this is described as valet mode...and to get out of it, turn the ignition to on, and press and hold the valet button for two seconds. the led will go off to indicate valet mode is no longer on.
That doesn't work.
Any ideas? Is there a reset on these alarms?
Thanks for reading!

Make sure the valet button isn't broken. Sometimes it looks fine, but isn't connecting the two wires internally. Happens alot.

hmmm....good point.
I pulled the switch, and checked continuity...0 resistance with the button pressed, and as far as I can tell, it plugs into the brain unit securely.
Is there anything else that could cause a solid light? Is it a troubleshooting code perhaps? Like maybe a faulty shock sensor or something?
This is almost getting annoying :)

Could be you are holding the Button to long after the key is ON......
Just a guess......not familiar with those Alarms
You might disconnect battery for reset

Well, I even called the company...
"oh, that should work...that's strange. Try resetting the unit by unplugging the power for about 5 minutes."
Thanks a bunch guys....
One thing they did confirm is that you're supposed to hold the switch down until the light turns off, so that rules out holding it down too long.
And I left it unplugged all last night, and as soon as I plugged it in today, same thing.
?? Strange stuff....on the plus side, the keyless entry still works :S
