i'm about to install an alarm on my bros tahoe this weekend, i've done a few alarms with remote start and powerlocks, i've been reading and found the diagram on how to do this vehicle, just wondering if there's an easier way to do the powerlocks, and also, do i need a passlock setup or will the remote still work if i don't, i heard you can mess up ecm's if you don't, also if you do, where can i pick one up at and will it work with my alarm, the vehicle is a 98 tahoe, and alarm is autopage thanks in advance

The locks are 5 wire if it's a 2 door model, must use relays. If it's 4 door, they are a normal positive pulse. Yes, you need a bypass. Any alarm shop will have one, it's a very common module.

Yea, you will need a bypass.  www.bypasskits.com has many bypasses.  You will need a pldata to bypass passlockII.  Your tahoe is positive doorlocks, in the drivers kick panel.  Most the time you will have to remove the plastic kick panel and reach up inside the hole to get the harness with the doorlock wires.  You can also tie into the parking light wire, dome light wire, and brake wire here.  Just raise the carpet up and you will see a big loom of wires, and the traditional colors of brown for parking, white or purple for dome, white for brake, blue for lock and white for unlock.  This cleans up the install alot.  Also, be sure to wire the IGN3 on the tahoe, which is white.  Use the yellow wire from the Autopage with a relay.  Good luck.
