I receintly purchased a Alpine head unit on Ebay and the plug that hooks into the antenna is only half there. It looks like it was cut somehow. I cant get any FM/AM reception. The CD player works get and I use XM most of the time anyway, but is sucks not having local reception. I've heard that aftermarket stereos have bad reception but I have no reception at all. Does alpine usually have bad reception ? Is there any quick fix to this problem ? The lead is a wire coming out of the Head Unit not a antenna plug in. Thanks for any help in advance

i never heard of an alpine not giving any reception. I would contact the seller and re-look at the add to make sure that it wasn't mentioned in there. If they didn't mention anything i would try to get the money back.

Are you sure the lead is not the power antenna lead?
