how check diode

i want to connect 2 530t's to my alram and have diodes to do so. my ? is how can i check the diodes to make sure they're 1 ampere the only thing on the diodes are a bunch of numbers as follows MSC 9432, BELOW THAT, MSP 845.

I looked in the information that I have and I could not find a listing for those numbers. My suggestion would be go to Radio Shack and buy a couple of the correct rating to be sure. They're cheap enough that I would buy new ones to be sure. If you go with an 1N4002, which are extrenely common, they will give you a 1A capacity. Personally, I would go bigger to be sure.HotRod

Pardon my ignorance, but I'm not sure what 530T's are...here's the rule of thumb, if you know that you are going to draw 1 Amp, you should size for 2X your draw+10%. The same rule applies for sizing a fuse. That would put you around 2-3 Amps. If your only using diodes for isolation between circuits which I am assuming that you are doing from your description, going too big will never hurt you. The voltage drop across a diode is the same no matter what the current. The diode isn't meant to be a fuse, so going big won't hurt, thas what the fuse is for. hot rodthe 530t's are the window modules from DEI, they allow you to control the windows when the alarm is armmed,i.e you can lower them, raise them(if connected to an aux channel) and vent them about two inches.
