I have bought the following for my car: CA-425A, CA-135, and CA-545.

I was told that I could use the CA-135 for the security features and use the CA-545 to upgrade to the remote start features. But I am confused as to if I plug in both the 4 pin and 6 pin connectors? They both have some of the same features and I am not sure if by using both connectors I will be overloading the unit?

Any help?

you're talking about the 4 pin and 6pin heavy gauge wires, correct?

you will need to use both harnesses for remote start, but I'm confused as to why you bought both the 135 and the 545. The 545 is remote start/keyless/security. It should include everything you need, the 135 will just give you some redundant harnesses.

I was going to just go with the CA135 since I was going to be swaping the AOD for a T5. I have since decided to not go with the T5 and since I am sticking with the AOD I wanted remote start. I looked at the new package and there is no shock sensor and the door lock/unlock wires are missing on the CA545.  I could be looking at the install instructions wrong though. I also the led is missing in the CA545 package and only has the toggle switch. I can use the wires that I need off the CA135 and not the 4 pin main harness if redundancy is the case.

1. The shock sensor is inside the 425A.

2. I believe the lock harness in packaged with the 425A.

3. I believe the LED is also packaged ith the 425A.

You have everything you need for alarm and remote start between the 425A and the 545. You have no use for anything that is in the 135, except if you want 4 remotes for this system.

I just put a code alarm 135 and 425 in my truck, but the kit it came with also had the 535 (for remote start) Seeing as my truck is a manual, I decided not to put that on, but if you have all three, all you need to install is the 425 and the 535. You can use the remote from the 135 is you wish, too but everything you need to do the install is in the 535 and 425.

What came with your kit for the CA-135 and535?

I have the CA-135,545, and 425a. Here is what is in each box.

CA-545:

  • Remotes
  • 6 Pin Main Harness
  • Siren
  • Antenna/Harness
  • 4 Pin Remotestart Harness (White)
  • 4 Pin AUX Harness (Green)
  • Toggle Switch and Hoodpin

CA-135

  • Remotes
  • 4 Pin Main Harness
  • Siren
  • Antenna/Harness
  • LED/Valet Switch
  • 4 Pin AUX Harness (Green)
  • 3 Pin Door Lock Harness (White)

CA-425A

  • Control Modual
  • 22 Pin Main Harness

If I am correct, I am missing the LED/Valet Switch and 3 Pin Door Lock Harness from the CA-545 and I can just install the CA-545 in the system with the missing parts from the CA-135.

Are you sure you have two 4 pin main harnesses?  That sounds odd.  I've put a few of these systems in and never ended up with two 4 pin mains.  I believe you should have 1 (supplied with 425A). The hood pin, locks, LED valet, hoodpin are usually with the 425.

your packages were probably opened. I have a brand new sealed box of CA-135 and the only thing inside is an antenna. everything else is in CA-425.
