My Jimmy has a stock alternator at 105 amps. I hooked up an Infinity BD 300 amplifier (1000 watts)with 2 40 amp fuses. It pulls the voltage down to about 12 volts at idle with it not turned up very loud, and still pulls down the voltage with the engine at normal operating RPMs 1500-2500 when the amp is at full power. I plan to add a second one of these at some later date, after I have upgraded the alternator. I've already killed the original alternator, which is sitting in my garage. I replaced it with a like alternator from the parts store, as I did not have the funds to replace it at the time. Anyways, my question is this: What are all of the custom amplifier builders, which is the best, which is the cheapest, which is the best deal, etc.? I'm just trying to get as much info as I can before making a decision on what to get.
Thanks,
~Aaron

try stinger for high output alternators but i personally only use local rebuilders that way in case of malfunctions i dont have to send a customers alternator to florida or california. i am very fortunate to have a local rebuilder that i can trust. also clarify warranty information buyer beware. as always

I've gotten quotes from HO Alternators, Stinger, Mechman, and Ohio Alternators. Is there anybody else that I'm missing?

Look at jstruckman's reply. Iraggi's HO alternators have a good rep.
