I have no idea what kind of monitor it is, but it has a 9 or 10 pin connector attatched to it.
I went to a mobile install shop and asked for a cable that would work with it...they provided me with a dvd to vcr cable (or something like that). In other words, the connector connects to the monitor...from there it splits to 2 wires for power and ground, a wire for a remote control, and 3 wires (Red, Yellow & White).
I've tried hooking the power/ground wires up to a cigarette lighter connection, but I get no power.
Am I supposed to hook up the a/v cables as well?

some monitors require video to turn on. try hooking up the a/v cables and see if the screen turns on. Where did you get the monitor? does it have any words or numbers on it?
Thanks,
Andy

I'll try and put up a pic of the monitor later today.
I've tried with power connected and video input coming from an Audiovox AVD400A DVD player...still nothing...dvd player works fine.

anyone know what kind of cable I would need to hook up this monitor? the wire sticking out of the monitor looks like an svideo connector, but has 8 pin holes.
I'm thinking I may have the wrong cable...
