I have a 91 Honda Accord LX.  A JVC KDLX50 head unit with 2 amplifiers one running to the highs and one to the lows.  I blew the low amplifier a couple of days ago and now i have taken that out and am running with no amplifier on the lows.  The highs are running fine but the radio is giving me engine noise.  I tried moving my ground from the factory on the radio back to the amp, to a bolt underneith the seat in the back, to a different factory ground, and stright to the battery.  There is still engine noise where ever i ground the radio.  It is not from the RCAs because i put i differnt audio source through and it gave me no engine noise but when i hooked the RCAs back into the head unit the engine noise was there.  Is there anything else i can do to make the noise go away?

  • make sure that the RCA's that you have in the car are not run along side the power wire
  • make sure that your ground wire is less than 3 feet in length
  • make sure that your gains on your amp are not cranked as this will induce alot of extra noises in the speakers
