Park light wire burn

Have an Ungo MS2005 w/ RS in a 95 Integra for 3 years. Recently it started burning the parking light wire after about 2 weeks of normal usage. Tried diode isolating, burns the diode. It always melts between the fuse and the junction with the cars wiring harness. 5 amp fuse never blows and there is no obvious short.
I'm stumped, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure it's the Ungo ??  Could be the Vehicle ......Are you using the Stock Lights or have you added anything?

Yeah. Alot of times people replace their bulbs with high wattage ones. not paying attention to the difference in current they pull. Alot of problems with headlights, haven't seen as many with sidemarkers or turnsignals. Either way very possible.

Wire a relay from the parking light output to the car's lighting circuit. Should be able to handle plenty of current then.

the fuse is there to protect the wire from burning. if its a 5 amp fuse and the wire is burning out. either the wire is rated at less that 5 amps or the fuse is handling too much current..

Absolutely stock, and only running the parking lights. replaced fuse with lower rating the first time it happened, think Ill try a relay, even though the alarm is supposed to have one built in.

Parking Lights- blue/red  -  factory alarm (if equipped)
Notes: The factory alarm is under the driver seat.

How did you make the connection when you tapped into the wire harness of the car? If you don't have a good low resistance connection, that'll heat up as it drops voltage, and cause a meltdown as it gets progressively worse. That'd be my first guess.
When you put the diode inline, did you select one rated for the current? If you tried the usual 1N4001 diode, it's only rated for an amp, so unless your parking lights total less than 12W, it'll burn up even if everything else was normal.
If the connection's good, check the gauge of the supply wire you're using, as Powermyster said; maybe it's too small- though I'd guess you used the one supplied with the alarm, which should be fine.
If your connection is good, you might want to take a current reading to see just how much your lights are drawing. Even if you had some intermittent short at the light sockets or something, it should have blown the fuse, not the wire-
Plan B would be to use the (-) trigger, as suggested.

I've seen this before in the Ungo Box/Black Widow product. The alarm requires a relay to protect it from itself on the park light output. Don't forget to put a fuse on the relay line.
