Ive searched and found that the differences between the 771 and the 791 for range are that the 791 operates on two frequencies whereas the 771 only uses one.  Since these units are suppossed to have the same brain, what do I need to switch in order to make my 771 operate with the range as the 791?  I have thought about switching out the antennas but Im not sure if thats the problem.   If I have to buy and program a 791 remote, thats not a problem.  Im just sick of this system I have not working sometimes whenever I stand about 15 feet from the vehicle.  It will not work with any structures inbetween the vehicle and responder also, which I also found was from the whole frequency thing.

the new 771 arent known for their durable remotes and long antenna range. the 791 is better. and like he said antenna and remotes are all available but u might want to make sure the existing antenna is correctly mounted, not like under the dash or in the glove box
the best part of a job is seeing the bumper get smaller over the horizon
