exit69, Proper term is PARKING BRAKE, do not use for emergancy it could get you killed. Check the book that comes with the car for info.

Bobk... didn't your mother ever teach you that if you have nonething useful to say to keep it to yourself!  I was just using the same term that  the guy used in the 2nd post up above .  And by the way...  the "book" that comes with the car is called a "MANUAL"

Thanks for keeping all of your useless comments to yourself in the future.  Or at least for my threads!!!

Pretty much on those units the dome light is your door trigger. Choose either + #8 orange or - #9 gray and tie it into the dome light circuit so that the unit will know when the door is open or not. No, #13 is for triggering remote start with the output of another alarm system output or a push button within the vehicle. You only need the out when running if you are using a bypass for the key security such as an immobilizer.

I did tie in the grey wire to the dome wire behind the light switch... and I don't need to bypass the clutch.  The car starts without pushing in the clutch.  There most be something I am overlooking...

I guess one of my posts got lost. but I said in it...
Is this a Golf III because I show the Door Trigger as BROWN / white (-) in the drivers kick.
Are you sitting inside the vehicle with the Door closed when you are trying to set it up? Did you verify that your getting a negative to #14 blue when the parking brake is applied? Also, make sure your not pressing the brake when you hit the start button.
Another thing...Do you have the #6 wire (12v Valet) connected back to constant power and switched on. I recall running into this issue once when I used one of these units and didn't hook up the switch.
