Does anyone know if there is a way to mod the D1 to play DVD movies? I'm guessing not due to hardware restrictions, but it would be really cool.
Also, a salesman at Sound Advice told me there would be an AVIC Z1 coming out in April 06...Does anyone know anything about this? Supposedly the unit will play DVDs, list albums etc from an iPod like they're listed on an iPod, and have a 30GB hard drive to eliminate cards / DVDs for GPS.

It cannot play movies.  They showed the Z1 at CES.  Its double-din, 7 in. screen, plays movies, 30 gig HD--20 for nav so you won't have disks and 10 to store music (you put in a CD and it records it at 4X speed and organizes it similar to an ipod.)  Has all new menus and full screen display of XM, Sirius, and Ipod.  Has some nav improvements as well and is bluetooth ready.  Looks great

I noticed in the new radios this year. A couple of them are bluetooth ready. Does this mean that there is going to be a seperate module or is it built in.

The ones that say "ready" need an additional part.  But, there is one single-din CD player that has it built in.  (It was one of the ones with the full color display.)
