Maybe you can get by with 2 gauge.  Depends on how far you think you will have to go.  I also think that the 8000w peak measurement is a bit skewed.  Let us know what you decide!

Whats with all these audiobahn people recently. Run 4 gauge, It can probably handle more than your alternator could dream of giving out. by the way that system will only give you like 500 watts. dont even start to believe the ratings on any audiobahn product.

I agree... but 4 guage is too small.. I doubt that the amp will put out 2,000w RMS< never mind "8000w" peak or anywhere near it, even with that being said, maybe it'll surprise you with a burned up 4 guage wire :D

I had the $1,000 1,800w Audiobahn class D amp on two 12' flame Q subs. I replaced the amp with a single 1000w JL amp and the Audiobahn subs couldn't handle the power (rated at 1000w each!). Point is that Audiobahn REALLY overrates.  Don't dump a ton of cash on wire that won't help your amp. Take it from someone that already make those mistakes. 4-2 gauge will do.
My wife will never understand why, lucky for her!
