There is a proposed ordinance in CA to allow cops to confiscate the cars of people who violate the noise ordinance three times.  I for one hope it passes... lots of good cars would then be available on the auction block!

The downside is that alot of stock vehicles would be able to be confiscated because they break the noise ordinance in "oem trim", noise ordinances apply to exhaust as well as audio equipment. It is good for the people going to the auction but at the same time they could just take the vehicle back in a week.
Just think of all of the harleys/bikes, diesels, SRT4s, WRXs, and other misc cars that would end up on the auction block.

Yes, but you have to be formally cited, which means you have to be observed by a police officer violating the law and be cited for it three times.  Here's an analogy: pretty much every vehicle that is sold will go faster then the posted speed limits.  Do we get tickets because it is possible?  No, we get tickets because we have lead feet and decide to drive too fast.  Same theory with sound, or litter, or anything else.  And noise ordinances DO apply to exhaust SPL and I know people who have been cited, so yes the same impouind law would also apply.

Because old butthole people can't mind there own bizz, and young butthole people don't know when to boom or when to turn it down. Problem is the old buttholes are the voters.

Once again this holds true... Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

wranglercory, this isn't a case of one or the other.

speedwayaudio1, this has absolutely nothing to do with anyone minding one's business or old people. If you're 18, you can and should vote. If you can make noise, you should be respectful of where and when you do so, regardless of what you have in or on your vehicle.
