Well I have a 96 monte carlo and I just installed a clifford RSIII in it yesterday. Now my stereo shuts off every once in a while, mainly when i go over bumps. I had this problem before in the same car with another stereo but it went away when I installed the new one, so I figured it was the stereo, but I was wrong. I have a kenwood KDC-X889. Where would be a good place to get power for the stereo from the fuse bos? how would I do this? I wish i could follow the factory wiring to see where the powert is comming from and see where the ground is connected.

I would recommend checking the wire harness , if you try to trace the wires manualy it will be a nightmare . You could check with the dealer and see if you can get a wiring diagram

Do you think that wiring the alarm constant power and the alarm power wires for the remote star relays from the ignition harnes could have something to do with this? maybe to much power beeing taken away from that wire?  I don't think the alarm should draw that much power when the car is on right?
