First off, hello everyone, I'm J, I am new here. Been reading the board for a few months but just signed up today...

Ok, so I should be wrapping up smoothing the box (my 2nd fiberglass box) this weekend, I am ready to start looking into the options on covering this box...

Of course theses are older pic, the box is MUCH further now, but you can get the feel of the shape of what I am tring to cover...
What is going to be the EASIEST way to cover this in a nice cloth/vinyl/tweed and what fabric would be the best? Anyone have any websites with tutorials on doing this? Anyone have any good sites to purchase the fabric? Right now I am open to ALL options besides painting the damn thing, like I said this is for my "beater" and I tend to throw stuff around in the trunk.
Thanks in advance.

I did do some searching around, didn't find anything thats shaped like this.
I went onto yourautotrim and picked out a few fabrics that I would think will work. Help me pick which is going to workout the best on this box with the countours.

personally i don't think carpet will lay very well on those curves of that box... and unless u have someone to sew your vinyl it may end up looking stupid... but on the other hand vinyl work just fine if u get a piece big enough.. but u say its for ur "beater" and u throw things around why not get a colored rhino liner and spray it like that..... won't chip very durable and it can be color matched

Thats for the advice, if I wanted to try vinyl should I use the fannel back or the smooth backed stuff? I have a couple yards of the smooth backed and my girl has some upholstery experience. That MAY be an option.
Rino linings not a bad idea either, is there anywhere to can by something similar in a spray can? Would the bed liner stuff you buy in the can and brush on be simlar.
Sorry for all the questions, just really weighing out all my options right now. Thanks again.

Well I went to JoAnn fabrics yesterday. I found a thin kinda carpet material that matched all the OEM panels in my trunk almost exactly. I got 2 yards ($4.99 yd) and a can of contact cement.
Soaked the box in 2 good coats of cement, let it dry 45mins-1hr and wrapped the box. Let me tell you, I am VERY pleased how it turned out. The entire thing is perfect! The only thing is I had to put 2 seams in the back so I could fold the fabric over, I couldn't find anyway out of it. Its on the back of the enclosure so it won't be seen at all. I just cut the folds close to one another and tucked the 1 side under and hot glued the other side over, you cn barely tell. I would have taken pictures but didn't get done till after 2am and had to get up at 6am.
Thanks for your help and input!
Pics coming!
