I am looking to buy a mid 90's car (because of budget) and strip to bare metal and build it up; everything from body kit to SQ and massive SPL. Does anybody have any suggestions as to what kind of car is easy to modify and would make a good candidate for SQ and SPL?
ps - even if you just narrow it down to ; ford, chevy, pontiac, honda etc.

Honda Civics. Easy to work on, simple electrical, probally more upgrade parts on the market than any other car, and big time space from wheel well to wheel well. Make sure you get a hatch though

Honda CRX. Easy to upgrade, tons of room and more than ample aftermarket performance crapola bling bling wow factor BS that you can get for it. After all of that, it makes a darn good platform for a good and loud stereo. (actually so does a Neon).
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

With the CRX make sure you get the 89 and up body, because the 86-88 body style has very little availible for body mods

If you're looking for a cheap car. I would suggest the crx or neon(neon's are a dime a dozen). Or a cavalier.

Neon or Civic.
That's my opinion. Take it, leave it, or correct me.

Nissan 240SX!! I would also say a Civic CRX or just a regular hatchback. If you can find a Nissan Sentra SE-R those are nice. Acura Integras are hot, but may be a little out of your price range.
