info on 05 toyota camry

I installed an alarm and a 555u in the car for remote start but know the owner said they went to the dealer and the dealer said that there is no chip in key and i was wondering if thats possible cause on the paper work for the alarm it says that it needs on.  Thanx in advance.Confidence is the key to any project!!

I ran into this same problem.  A lot of the starter sellers are saying that all these cars need bypasses when they don't.  It is possible.  Do what I did.  Go to Home Depot, tell them to copy the key, pay the $1.87 and go out and try to start the car.  If it starts with the copied key, the stock key has no chip.

Yeah, always test first......it's a real shame that those tech sheets are too lazy to find out the correct information, and specify which cars have it and which don't. On the Camry, the transponder key is only included on the "luxury" XLE model, as well as ALL V6 cars. Camry: You won't see many of these around; it just says "Camry" on the trunk. No immobilizer, no factory keyless, no power trunk, no alarm. Camry LE: This is the one that everyone buys. Factory keyless, factory power trunk, no alarm. Transponder key ONLY on LE V6. Camry SE: This is the "sporty" one, with brushed-metal dash accents. Factory keyless/trunk, no alarm, transponder key ONLY on SE V6. Camry XLE: The "luxury" model, with woodgrain dash and automatic climate controls. Factory keyless, trunk, factory ALARM, transponder key on ALL XLE models, regardless of engine.
