I'm trying to install a rostra cruise control in a 87 winebago with a chevy 440 I believe.  I have everything installed and I can't get it to work.  Does anybody have any experience with one of these beasts?

No 440 in the Chevy lineup, how about a 350 (5.7l) or a 454 (7.5L)

it must be the 454 then and it is a global cruise module,  I have a vss reading from a signal generator, and it seems as if it won't activate when i press the set button.

If it is the 1223, be sure & check your switch settings.  Your Brake Light Connection ( should show GROUND when Pedal is Up ), and GROUND Wire connection at the Servo

Where do you have the BLUE wire connected?

All my dip switches seem to be set right.  I wasn't getting a solid ground on my bake switch so I put in a relay to give it ground when up and 12v when ther brake is pressed and also double checked my main ground and it was good but I moved it to and all my tests seem ok,  It detects the set button, the resume button  and the brake.  It also detects the tach signal properley and the only thing i can't test is my VSS since I don't have a large enough jack to lift up the vehicle, but the signal generator does give me an AC signal when I drive and test it with my test meter.  My blue wire is hooked up to the tach wire.

Be sure the RED wire has 12 volts Constant +
BROWN wire has Ignition 12 volts +
Try GROUNDING the Blue Wire.
Check Throttle Slack for no more than 1/8 inch

my red has 12v+ constant, my brown has 12v+ ignition, I've tried grounding the blue wire and my slack is good.
